As a health care organization, it is important for ÂÜÀòÉç Jacksonville to protect its patients and comply with standards set by regulatory agencies. We set a high standard of excellence because our volunteers directly interact with our customers and are ambassadors for our hospital in the community. It is solely the discretion of ÂÜÀòÉç Jacksonville to accept or deny a volunteer applicant.
Student Volunteer Program
Thank you for your interest in our Student Volunteer Program. We have revised our student program where students can come year round, only during the week Monday – Friday, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. You must commit to at least 80 hours, most volunteers work one four-hour shift each week.
Please complete the . Once completed, you will be contacted by a Volunteer Service representative to schedule an interview to discuss our opportunities.
You will need to bring:
- Two (2) letters of reference (no family member).
- GPA reflecting a 3.0 or higher. This can be from the previous semester or quarter if current has not been issued.
Adult Volunteer Program
Time commitment
New volunteers are asked to make a commitment to serve 100 hours. Most volunteers work one four-hour shift each week. Some give more. Schedules are arranged to suit your availability.
Vacations and absences
We understand as a volunteer you have many other commitments. We are able to accommodate shift changes and absences due to illness or travel plans.

After we receive your application, you will be contacted for an interview or you may call us to schedule an appointment. - General Health Screening
Our Employee Health Department screens volunteers for placement with the following:- Health questionnaire
- Tuberculosis screening
- Proof of immunity for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella and hepatitis B, are required to volunteer. Volunteers must provide this proof of immunity from either shot records and/or positive titers.
