蹤獲扦 Jacksonville Welcomes New Neurologists to Movement Disorders Program

The 蹤獲扦 Neuroscience Institute is pleased to announce the addition of two distinguished neurologists, Jesse Cohen, MD, and Kartik Mangipudi, MD, to its Movement Disorders and Parkinson's Program.

Jesse S. Cohen, MD

Dr. Jesse Cohen

Dr. Cohen, an assistant professor of neurology at the University of Florida, brings a wealth of expertise in Parkinson's disease and movement disorders. He received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed his neurology residency at the University of Pennsylvania.

His subspecialty training in movement disorders further deepened his research interests, which focus on identifying neuroimaging biomarkers for Parkinsons disease and related neurodegenerative conditions. His work explores the relationship between sleep, cognition, and the anatomical patterns of brain degeneration in Lewy body disorders, which are a group of brain disorders that involve abnormal protein deposits in the brain.

Only by pairing excellent clinical care with leading-edge clinical research can we continue to advance the treatment of patients with Parkinsons disease and other movement disorders, Cohen said. Im hopeful that by improving our understanding of cognitive and sleep dysfunction, we will be able to better treat these disabling symptoms that affect individuals with Parkinsons disease and other neurodegenerative conditions.

Kartik Mangipudi, MD

Dr. Kartik Mangipudi

Dr. Mangipudi, also an assistant professor at the University of Florida, joins the program with extensive training in movement disorders, including a fellowship in deep brain stimulation at Mayo Clinic in Arizona.

Dr. Mangipudis clinical interests are focused on gait and balance disorders, particularly in individuals with Parkinsonian syndromes. His research is aimed at improving the understanding and treatment of motor dysfunctions that affect movement and coordination in Parkinsons disease patients.

Im excited to be joining such a dynamic team at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville, Mangipudi said. The opportunity to work alongside colleagues who are leaders in the field and to contribute to ongoing research and patient care is a privilege.
